We only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to support this citizen-led movement. We process data in two categories:
- Sign the Call Form: We collect your Full Name, Email Address, Country of Residence, and your explicit consent regarding whether you agree to be listed publicly as an endorser.
- Committee Application Form: We collect your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Country of Residence, and your written motivation to evaluate applications for the Group of ECI Organizers.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Our legal basis for processing your personal data is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you grant by checking the consent box and voluntarily submitting either of the forms on our website. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All submitted data is securely transferred and processed using Formspark (a European, privacy-first, GDPR-compliant form processor operating under strict data processing agreements and physical hosting within the European Union).
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to achieve the goals of the Initiative (specifically, until we launch the formal European Citizens' Initiative or until you request its deletion).
5. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights which you can exercise free of charge:
- Right of Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can request that we correct any inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request that we completely delete all your personal data from our databases.
- Right to Object/Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent to participate at any time.

6. Sharing Data with Third Parties
We do not sell, lease, rent, or share your personal data with any third-party commercial entities. Your contact information is kept strictly confidential. If you gave explicit consent, your name and country may be listed publicly on our list of campaign supporters to demonstrate general democratic interest.
